While I mostly use the Raw files, I do occasionally use Jpegs straight from the camera. Over the years I've been using my X-E1, I've chopped and changed the setup that I use quite a bit, but here are the settings that I currently use.

One of the big questions you're probably asking yourself is what is the difference with the new Fujifilm X-T1 (compared to the x100s, X-Pro 1, XE-2, etc). As I understand it, Fujifilm X-T1 is supposed to be their "DSLR killer" and their new flagship. Whereas the x100s is supposed to be an "affordable Leica."

These Fujifilm settings for travel photography are recommendations only Image Quality Setting Image Size MEDIUM 3:2. This only matters if you're recording JPEG or RAW+JPEG. Your RAW output is going to be Large 3:2, no matter what. But the camera can crop and downsize your JPEG output if you'd like.

Here are my settings for street photography. aperture priority mode. auto iso 200-6400, minimum shutter speed set to 1/500. aperture set to f5.6 or f8. manual zone focus, set the distance to 3 meters for the 27mm lens. check out a dof calculator for other focal lengths. Manual zone focus seems a little bit too complicated for me.

Look for the light. After all there's little in the sky, unless you're shooting under a full moon on a cloudless night. Obviously we are talking artificial light in the main. For example, shop windows. These make excellent light sources, lighting up the faces and the area close to the window.
